Overview

K-8 Hybrid Program

Roseville City School District’s K-8 Hybrid Program is a blended learning program that incorporates in-person instruction and at-home learning. Students will receive whole group and small group standards-based in-person instruction in language arts, math, science, and social studies essential standards, blended with independent practice activities and assignments to be completed at home. The K-8 Hybrid Program will be located at Riego Creek Elementary, Stoneridge Elementary, and Cooley Middle School with limited availability.

What will the RCSD K-8 Hybrid Program look like for my child?

Your child will have:

  • Instruction by a highly qualified RCSD teacher (K-5) or teachers (6th-8th)
  • Smaller cohorts of students with a maximum class size of 17 students per day
  • Standards-based daily instruction
  • Whole group and small group instruction
  • Ongoing feedback, progress reporting, and trimester grades
  • Learning management system to support communication
  • In-person instruction at least once a day
  • English, math, science, social science
  • Physical education program and elective class

Parents/guardians will be expected to:

  • Consider each option carefully before making their final decision
  • Set-up a space for optimal student learning 
  • Support their child in completing assignments and independent work
  • Reinforce behavior expectations for online meetings with the teacher and peers
  • Engage with the learning management system 
  • Parents sign a Hybrid Program-Parent-Student Expectation Compact 
  • Parents commit to the Hybrid Program for the entire 2020-2021 school year
  • Parents are responsible for transportation and childcare 
  • Students retain resident school enrollment for 2021-2022
  • Complete daily temperature and symptom self-screening at home each day 
  • Support their child in completing assignments and independent work
  • Reinforce best hygiene practices at home to support school practices
  • Support the district’s health and safety guidelines

Who Can Enroll in the RCSD K-8 Hybrid Program?

  • Any K-8 student residing in RCSD or 2019-2020 interdistrict transfer student
  • Students must have an up-to-date enrollment filled out to their resident school
  • Parents/guardians may then enroll their child in the RCSD K-8 Hybrid Program
